The wife of a California megachurch pastor tragically took her own life last weekend, leaving behind her husband and five kids under the age of 6.

Don't bother with sympathy. She had an implant. It stopped her getting pregnant, She had it surgically inserted and then decided to get it removed. Why? So she could get sympathy? No! So she could have more kids! Believe it or not, some women actually enjoy being a mother. I realise that it is no longer fashionable, but my daughter is well able to cope and well able to choose for herself. I don't know what her husband had to say about it. Not much, I suspect.
Oh my Lord, that's evil.

For someone to downplay depression and suicide is despicable an absolutely inexcusable. This person should be banned for being so cruel and callous towards a serious mental health issue
The other one too, right along with them.

Again we don't know what goes on behind closed doors and we don't know if she wasn't pressured by her husband to remove the birth control device.
I'm not saying he did I'm just saying we don't know that he didn't.
It's probably a much more nuanced problem
Also there are denominations of Christianity that basically think women should just shut up and keep cranking out babies.
Before anyone's straw man's me I'm not saying all Christians think that way but some of them do
The full quiver movement is one such cult. Its founder exploited the 1st amendment using Psalm 127:3-5 in order to exploit for profit the child income tax credit.

sad
that is a lot of children but then how many in this 'megachurch' they will rally round Im sure.

I thought pastors or bishops in ministry were not meant to be too young or recent converts because they get puffed up with pride. Arent they meant to be ELDERS who have children that are also believers and have run their household well?

Not meant to judge this pastor but how old is he cant have been that old if his wife was just twenty eight and still having children. Why are many pastors these days really young? . The test comes when the children reach their teen years how do the parents handle them.
Biblically it wasn't required to have children to be a pastor or elder but if they did have children yes they were required to be good parents. And only one wife was allowed. Because polygamy was common in those days. Hence the mention of having one wife. A pastor could be unmarried or childless but if he wasn't it could only be one wife. Managing household well also would have included servants or slaves
