Well, we weren't discussing Dude653 and his past. The thread is about discussing Trump and some of the things he's done/said. I don't think it's appropriate to derail the thread and make it about Dude653 especially since he's not a candidate for president. Now, if he decides to run, then I'd understand you wanting to talk about his past in a new thread.

It's not so much the derail I'm objecting to (I sometimes accidentally do it too), it's that personal attacks are not only frowned upon by the rules of CC, they are unnecessary... especially when it's rooted in speculation (assuming that because Dude653 made hyperbolic statements against Trump, he must be hiding something too).
Is this a site where we talk about Christian character and worldview or a site where we are constrained by whatever is considered by whoever to be out of bounds? If a person wants to make ignorant exaggerated claims as though they have some divine insight I'm gonna call em out on it. That kind of talk and attitudes are quite frankly more of a problem in this world than some knucklehead running for president. Imo. One would assume that a person claiming Christ was murdered on a cross to save them would have at least a basic understanding of what grace has done for them and it would show in their speech.
Alot of discussion on this site is rooted in speculation. Hyperbolic statements fly around like kites on a windy day. . I didnt see anyone name calling. Self righteous, righteous, whatever;that is not a personal attack. Dont bother yourself with such trivial things. The suspect the mods will intervene if they deem it appropriate.
it isn't that a person with a critical spirit is intentionally hiding something. It's more often that they are afraid of their own depravity being exposed to the light. They haven't surrendered it to Jesus. Much of my commentary on this site deals with the self deception that people do to themselves. You can not like it, but it's who I am so you'll have to deal with it or ignore me. You certainly aren't gonna change me.
