It is really a brilliant form of recycling. When trying to process uranium to get the most radioactive concentration for use in a nuclear power plant or weapon they are left with this radioactive waste. No one wants this in their backyard and we are talking about tons and tons of the stuff, so what do we do? Let's make bombs out of them and drop them in someone else's backyard.
