I do not believe Chauvin meant to have Floyd die.

When I saw video of what occurred with Floyd, my first thought was once Floyd stopped resisting, Chauvin could have just sat with him ... tell him help was on the way ... and to hang in there. I'm not sure that Floyd still would not have passed because of the amount of fentanyl in his system, and there still may have been charges brought against the cops, but with the way the situation was handled, we don't know what was the proximate cause of death ... was it the fentanyl? ... was it the pressure of the knee? ... was it added stress because Floyd thought he might be jailed? ... was it a combination of varying factors?

p.s. I don't have a problem with truly "peaceful" protests and I sure as heck don't believe the looting/rioting that went on last year (and continues) is the answer.

Well an alternate juror came out and said that she felt afraid and intimidated that people would find her and show up at her house. If she feels that way don't expect me to believe she was the only one. No, this was the death of the justice system in America. And you can see it by the reaction to the situation where the cop had to shoot the young girl with the knife. Already the mob was there, making demands to see the tape and causing trouble. No, this wasn't justice.
Yeah except we all saw it happen right before our eyes. We have video footage of Derek Chauvin kneeling on a prone and handcuffed man's neck for almost 9 minutes

Only those @ the trial know (virtually) the whole story. Only God knows the absolute whole story.

But again, from my info, justice was not done. I don't believe Chauvin was guilty of murder in any degree.

The neck thing is a legal procedure. Change the laws, don't throw the book @ cops who are trying to protect us.

I didn't know much about Floyd but always thought that he probably was a good person and the cop was wrong. Then I got more facts a nd like... NO

which is SCARY when u think of it

the way people can go berserk and get extremely violent and destructive over something seen on TV! without knowing all or even some of the basic facts, Neanderthals come out of the woods to destroy civilization

criminals are called heros
those who try to protect us are seen as demonic

Pay attention, Everyone!

And whatever happened to the notion that Violence is not the answer to injustice? There may be a time here or there when "violence" is necessary... like when someone is attempting to burglarize your home while u are home... But this violence against society has got to GO.

Too bad "everyone" seems to have been turned into sniveling cowards...

I'm going to say this again. When five police officers can't apprehend one man without killing him, especially when he's already handcuffed handcuffed, this is an indictment of just how horrendously under trained our police officers really are

I don't see any justice

the ms media is virtually criminal in the lies and deceptions they put forth as "news"

And here's something people aren't talking about:

People will not want to become police officers...

i think that has already happened... You think that's a good thing? Wait until you are being robbed or attacked in some other way..

All you who still support Floyd and are against Chauvin

Show me the evidence of why we should feel the same

I think the jury made the right call here.
I can't think of any reason it's necessary to kneel on someone's neck for 8 minutes after he's already prone an handcuffed. Also Derek Chauvin already had multiple complaints against him for unnecessary violence
If all the complaints made against Derek Chauvin were from non-Whites, then that would set a precedent for the killing being racially motivated. However, I'm not sure if that's the case or not.
