Like a faucet that is carelessly dripping in a glass house,
The floors are cold
And the windows are shattered.
All through the eclectic rhythm of nature,
The sun wipes his brow
And the songbirds rest their weary heads.

That shook loose a memory for me! Not that it matters. For whatever reason, I suddenly remembered a summer in high grass and that hot afternoon sound of cicada in the trees. The county was cutting grass and a black man took off his hat and wiped his brow. The sun caught his face in an odd glare and made his skin glow a brilliant flash for a second. I was just a kid...
