[h=5]An abandonment of one's self,
obtaining to a vast heavenly wealth,
denying the comforts and desires of the fallen man,
embracing the path to the promised land.
A battle along the path that often becomes lonely, cold, and cruel,
trusting not in myself but in the One who rules.
For He is a great King and mighty to save,
giving his comfort and joy to all those who obey.
Knocked down often, ridiculed, and perplexed,
rising again and again my soul often vexed.
But the Lord is my deliverer and nothing can keep Him from me,
working out my salvation daily, if needed on my knees.
Jesus they prick us, they try to shoot us down,
my heart will not become bitter, they pierced you Lord with that thorny crown.
So I offer you my life, take me as I am, lead my oh God to the beautiful promised land.
Redemption is costly, the price, His precious blood,
His Spirit now moving, how beautiful and wonderful is His love!
Pride is so foolish, men boast in meaningless things,
what is so grand about trusting in empty kings?
Kings of the earth raised up in pride, these kings cannot obtain the glory of the Most High, they shall fall,
Only the humble shall see, the lowly in heart receive, partake, and endure all!!

These are my favorite parts of the poem.

Mine too. I write my poems based on my own personal experiences as a Christian. Glad you like it. :)

Courage, child of Jesus.

From heaven a voice like sweet harp music sounds, Here is the perseverance of the saints
Who keeps the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus
His church will not fall, Jesus has declared. A faithful little remnant will remain
Who will not buy with the beastly mark Sealed with the truth sin they disdain

Brothers and sistes arm yourselves with faith. In God's word place full confidence
Faith will not falter but firmly will place trust in Gods word for its defence
High like the standard of our faith, raise up the Bible fearlessly cry
Show us where we are in error for faith never one word of God denies

Traitors who use the mark will be revealed as the temptation makes them manifest
for not desiring their sins to forsake they cloak them with christ's righteousness
Firm fidelity we will maintain to Jesus words in spite of loss and pain
He who will lose his life and remain faithful to christ finds it again.

May you ever remain faithful to the word of God...
