Used to write poetry when I was younger, but I haven't in awhile, this is the last one I wrote.
Swirling mists surround me
Each a separate thought
A bright vision for you to see
Whether true or not
Truth is my perception
Attitude my only real power
Esteem a blind deception
Yet a food i do devour
I see the path forming
Each step i do take
The past held in mourning
The future i do make
Words are the key
Plunging me deep down
The idea i have of me
Creates smile or frown
Change it all i can
To know the truth of man
I must realize i am
What i think i am
Thoughts i once thought
Lead down the wrong path
Cold death i once sought
A sure vessel for wrath
But then God saved me
Showed me lies id been fed
Opened my eyes to see
Through the Christ Who bled
Nay the deception of man
The big lie of me
To think i am, what i am
Without Gods mercy
But grace so pure so true
Saved me from certain death
Saved me and even you too
Now Christ is all that's left
Grab your cup and share
His precious blood that saves
Let Him clean your feet
And keep us from the graves
