English is not my native language. But here is the first Poem/lyric I made for the Lord when I first was saved. It might be a lyric for a song in the future when my guitar skills get better.
May you all be blessed. Amen!

Verse 1:
Was it arrogance that made me hurt you
Was it ignorance that made me hate you
No, I just wanted to be my own God.

Verse 2:
I have been high and I´ve been low
I have been here and I´ve been there
As a lost lamb I ran, in a spiders maze.

Chorus:
I was caught up in the devils web of lies
Jesus saved my soul from the fire
Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, Thank you lord, for bringing me home.

Verse 3:
In this dark world I walked, chasing the dream
Thought I had joy and Love, Thought I had peace of mind
But now I see the truth you give!

Verse 4:
You showed me Love, joy and bliss
You took me in and made me whole
You saved my life, from myself!

Chorus:
I was caught up in the devils web of lies

I think it is a very nice song for being your first one. Will there be a guitar solo in between perhaps? ;)

This poem does talk about how most people are thinking and living in this world, how most of us can be influenced by material and fleshly wants and needs. How it affects you more when you are not saved, but even as a Christian we can struggle as well. Though we have the possibility of getting help from Jesus Christ, others are striving more by themselves. Short sentences yet with a very deep meaning added to it. :)

Thanks, and yes. Since I grew up a metal-head listening to a lot of heavy metal, power metal, fantasy metal and all those other genres I see this with nice guitars and a great solo somewhere.

And most of my songs and poems are made straight from the heart to our savior. Getting saved was a great eye opener for a lot of things. The world is not as it seems and there´s just one way to heaven. Through Jesus Christ and him alone. Hence this song came about.

Thanks for the criticism and I will write a few more soon.
