P
Feelings crash o'er me like a tidal wave,
and part of me wants to hide in a cave
to simply get away from ev'ry fear.
Surely, Lord, You see all of my shed tears.
Depression often looms its ugly head
and makes me think thoughts that are full of dread.
To step out in faith is the great debate;
should I go forward with plans, or should I wait?
It seems that no one cares about how I feel;
don't they realize that my hurt is real?
I extend my arm while in this quicksand
hoping someone will say, "Here, grab my hand!"
Then, I arrive at this bold conclusion;
I need not dwell in this state of confusion.
God is with me through ev'ry thick and thin,
and His Son remains my truest friend.
God holds my shaky right hand and tells me,
"Child cast upon me your anxiety.
I'm here to care for you ev'ry single day,
so there's no need to be in such dismay."
I gladly place my hope upon the Rock
and thank God that I am in His flock.
So, when you feel like you are all alone,
remind yourself that you are one of God's own.
and part of me wants to hide in a cave
to simply get away from ev'ry fear.
Surely, Lord, You see all of my shed tears.
