In a world far away
We dream of the future,
Always something better
Than today, and
The closer we get to it
The quicker it outdistances us.
The past is now a vacated shell
Of a snail in a garden
Cast aside where someone
Once lived and thrived.
Today the trumpets blare
Today the lions roar
Today is the day
For us was made
Today is the day
Unlike any other.
Time to seize it
And cherish it
This moment will never
Pass us again.
