The lantern burns bright
On this cold Spring night
Visions of shadows dancing
On the wall, imps prancing
Without rhythm or tune
After all, it's almost June.
I close my eyes and see
Them still looking at me
As the light is gone but not
The image, nor the thought.
Soon, I'll blow the lantern out
Everything will be gone about
An hour from now when we all
Go to sleep til the morning call.
On this cold Spring night
Visions of shadows dancing
On the wall, imps prancing
Without rhythm or tune
After all, it's almost June.
I close my eyes and see
Them still looking at me
As the light is gone but not
The image, nor the thought.
Soon, I'll blow the lantern out
Everything will be gone about
An hour from now when we all
Go to sleep til the morning call.
