Ok, so here's something I started while in a week-long fast. Most, if not all of my poetry, is birthed by a few lines a think up of, I decided which direction to take with them, write them down as the beginning lines and flesh out the rest as I go. This one was the same way with the exception that, on top of the first few lines, I also had somewhat of a story and direction and mood in line, as a result it went on a lot longer than most of poems, and even as I post this, I'm still adding. What this is, is the first part of a poem in which I have three parts to so far, and two more in mind, so expect more to come. This is also not exactly a bright and cheery warm fuzzy poem, as most of mine aren't anyway, but again, keep in mind this is only a beginning. At its core it's a story of sin and its effects. A man dealing with dark and deadly desires, as such it has a dark opening. And one final note, a lot of the idea for the theme and story came from a song called Obsessive Devotion by Epica, feel free to check out the song if you want, but don't feel required, just giving credit where credit is due.

The devil's in her eyes
like a darkened gaze
that never fades
awakening a fire inside
flaming the darkened depths
solitary full light shines
hunger breeds violence
skin tearing a disguise
the beast raging inside
ravished for violence
as her gaze penetrates
her violence consumed
until death is found tonight
where will she rest?
where to find solace?
heartbeats synchronize
Unhealthy obsessive devotion
The stomach turns and rages
the eyes stab and feed
unfeeling relentless ritual
ravishing empty hands
consumed the animal within
blood will spill
feeding tonight an empty hunger
as she waits luxurious
coming to her flawless form
kissing her hand of honey
her lips of vinegar
a sharpened silver between his ribs
breathing his last upon her
still paying to her devotion
she rises higher again
