MY LIGHT

Lord,

You tell me that I am the light of the world,
Yet, why do I feel so dim - so helpless?
Do I forget that your light is bright

Within me?

You tell me to shine before men,
Yet many times I hide this light.
My own selfish feelings and needs

I show.

Make me a transparent vessel,
Unclog and free my soul,
To shine with the light of truth and love,

Reflecting you.

Do you write haiku poetry?
Your verse somewhat reminds me of it.
If you dont, I think you would do a great job if you tried.

Thanks - but I just write what I would pray. Whatever it is called. And it seems to be different every time.
