I was living my life
With all that it brings;
No cares or concerns
About heavenly things.
Suddenly my life
No longer had ease.
You saved my life when
You put me on my knees.

Troubles and trials
Started coming my way.
I tried to be faithful,
But still went astray.
I returned to well-
Acquainted familiarities.
You restored my joy when
You put me on my knees.

A close friend sickened
And fell into sleep.
My face remained dry,
But my soul did weep.
My spirit dwindled
Despite all my pleas.
My sorrow met comfort when
You put me on my knees.

I have suffered often
As I've lived out my life.
I have gone through times
Of discomfort and strife.
I have plumbed the depths
Of the deepest of seas.
You have always been faithful
To put me on my knees.
