In the mist of early morning hours
On the Sea of Galilee a boat sails
The roaring waves show their raging powers
Rattling the boat's sturdy cedary base

These stormy waters are indeed a theater
Of quiet hope and life's endless drama plays
Dread of harsh elements makes many a man falter
Yet here their source of sustenance stays

Something approaching over turbulent waters
Fills the crew's trembling hearts with fear
Then a gleam of recognition sparks amidst the bothers
Has their beloved master somehow arrived here?

Arising from his nervous distress
One of the men now braves
Standing up to face and address
The one who treads on the waves

He shouts out to ask: Lord, is it you?
And later when the time is due
He will see how deeply it was true
When his own futile steps fall through

In the moment's haughtiness
Misjugding the depth of his newfound trust
He moves himself amidst the waves
Now he has no footing and sink he must

Ready to voice his desperate final shout
He finds the place of truest security
Surrendering own efforts to only cry out:
Lord Jesus, save me!

Absolutely behind brilliant your speakif heavenly things from the real of heaven itself mere word are not enough to express what you have said the depth of it the is to much fior human tongues to speak I can tell your words alone were not enough to express it what your heart was desperately wanting to say th depth of what your heart was feeling even as you wrtoe this it felt lacking it felt like you could only express a part of it

and yet even witb that much you spoke something that goes beyond understanding you make his smile and his pride be beyond pride you have been a faithful and well serving servant and child of his heart

There's something going on in this part that isn't exactly obvious. I wonder if anyone can catch it.

Magenta and ebdesroches, your suggestion is kind of relevant but not exactly what I was looking for.

The key is this passage in Job 9:8

He alone stretches out the heavens
and treads on the waves of the sea.

Peter asked: "Lord, is it you?"

And that was even more true than he may have realized at that point as he probably didn't fully realize who Jesus was (Lord God having taken on human flesh) until later. But your point is indeed relevant in the sense that the salvation that Jesus was going to provide (not just on the water but even more importantly the salvation brought about by his work on the cross) was only possible because Jesus is God, and it was also the only thing that could ultimately get Peter (and actually every single one of us) out of the mess he/we made.

Love this line most. It reminds me of me. Wow, amazing poem.
