As my eyes are fixed on Jesus christ,
The work of the spirit ceases not
Until my character is conformed
to his pure image that has no spot
When trials reveal that I am unkind
when my selfishness is manifest
As Jesus mediates nought I plead
but his own blood and his righteousness
When in prayer I open my soul to God
His spirit shows me my wicked heart
I must smite no more with the fist of wickedness
Grace will God's word of power impart.
