I sometimes grow weary of the pagents and plays
it doesn't seem right to tell it this way
So many characters and actors pretending to be
the one who made a 'carpet' out of the sea
If we really believed & strived for his goals
perhaps we wouldn't have to put on all these pageants & shows
The stakes we're gambling are very high you know
surrounding the eternal destiny of our soul

I wonder if anyone has believed what the play has said
as I turn out the light and shuffle to bed
The hour was late & I was really beat
my body ached from my head to my feet
To stay awake I'd have to put up a fight
so when my head hit the pillow - I was out like a light

There was a deep whirl & I seemed to fall
I was awakened by loud voices and vulgar cat calls
Was I dreaming or was this real?
I seemed to be there - I could actually feel
I watched in silence as I was taken with a cold chill
dear God, - they were walking my Lord up Calvary's hill
The crowds were angry; they shouted & jeered
my heart failed me, as I was gripped with fear

The crack of a whip landed on my Lord's flesh
blood covered his face & flowed on to his chest
I had never before seen first hand
so much blood dripping - into the sand
Who are these ungodly people I was straining to see?
my God - they're people just like you & me.
I was part of the crowd; caught up in the sway
I was an eye-witness of my Lord's saddest day.
I watched in horror as we neared the top of the hill
there was weeping & wailing - it didn't seem real

Fiercely & quickly they turned him around
with spikes & hammers they roughly staked him down
They lifted him up on an old rugged cross
for the first time I realized, how much my sins had cost

It seemed forever he hung there, for you and me
as if for a witness, that all the world might see.
Then darkness came and covered the land
I could not see - even my hand.
I covered my ears & shook my head in despair,
for the dark wailing was too much for me to bear.

A silence exploded & my spirit arose
to the side of a mountain where his tomb was enclosed
The grave was opened - yet where was my fear?
an angel descended, telling the women ' he's not here'

God's plan for salvation is now complete
for he has put death under his feet
The dark wailing & fear that had held me in my place
completely vanished as I glanced upon his face.

The birds began singing, the trees & grass hastened to sway, the clouds rolled over, for this was
RESURRECTION day !

What great unspeakable joy, this early morning brings
as I awake & smile while my alarm clock rings.

Now I know why "into the world we must go"
for this was no pageant nor beauty show

If heaven we would see, then we must remember every day that the Son of God has come and shown us the way

If you want eternal life, then surely you can see
why Jesus said,
"Pick up your cross and follow me"

At The Cross At The Cross where i was flooded with His blood of Love where the hatred in my heart sins He washed away it was there by The Blood of omnipotent Love i received my Faith now i am lead by His love all the day.
The cross is the hinge of all salvation it is repugnant to the world that loves sin but to us touched by His love gloriously beauty is hidden in His cross
Thank you Jesus Thank you forever Jesus for your cross
