T
The hurt.
The shame.
When will it ever end?
I can feel the Light reaching behind the bend.
It knows the secrets that I keep.
It wishes to wipe the tears that I weep.
I begin to run, not wanting to be discovered.
But the Light is always there; ready to embrace me,
ready to help me through the pain.
I don’t give in.
I can’t let It win.
Rushing deeper into Shadow,
promises satisfaction,
promises safety from the Light.
The Light cannot reach me here,
yet still It cries out my name.
It tries to assure me that this is not a game.
But I am lost and I cannot see any beams of light.
Nothing here is bright.
The Light’s voice slowly drifts away as I press on.
A new voice beckons me from the shadows.
This voice is falsely sweet and as warm as heat.
My heart fills with more hope on every beat.
A hope that this time,
the sin will make me complete.
The Light’s whisper pleas with me but I am already decided.
The deed finishes and I find that the sweet voice is bitter.
The hurt.
The shame.
Mocking words spit from the Shadow.
I scream out the name of the One who loves me.
The Light’s glorious rays suddenly shine,
bursting through the tree line.
I reach for The Light and It’s strong hand pulls me out of the dark obis.
"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. But God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." -- 1 Corinthians 10:13
