I only wanted all
everything you could breathe
all that you wanted to give
burning destroys my throat
these tears sting and I hate them
my muscles straining
clawing up to where you belong
What happened to everything?
fighting daily against all
just for a glimmer of you
hoping that I will see you
these storms come against me
my body is limp in defeat
but my spirit carries on
I can't stop until I see you
I can't give up until I find you
my spirit lifting from darkness
your promises ever before me
I can't let go of them
Your promise of life
Your promise of hope
Your promise of you
carry me through this
and draw my eyes
draw my heart
draw my spirit
draw my soul
until no gaze is fixed before them
just the sight of you fills them
