"Then I Pray"

Stress manifests
while anxiety builds
.......then I sin
I pray dear Lord
I won't do that again
----------------------
Bad thoughts arise
filled with ego and pride
.......then I sin
I pray a promise to God
to not do it again
-----------------------
Temptations soar
promising relief or joy
.......then I sin
I pray to our Father
help me, why did I give in?
------------------------
Stress manifests
while anxiety builds
.......then I sin again
I pray dear Lord
there I go again
------------------------
Now as stress manifests
and before anxiety builds
As bad thoughts are born
Before temptation has wings
.......Then I Pray
I pray to my Savior
Thank You for Your strength
this blessed day.

I was letting stress and anxiety make me lash out at those I love. This simple poem helps me to remember when to pray.
