Such a friend I never had
True and strong, a solid lad
standing for my faith for me
knocking out the enemy
I was pushed and hurt and more
as a child in school before
never had a friend you see
who would stand up strong for me.
Lived my life and learned to lie
cheat and steal and just get by
its the way of worldy war
hit them first and hit some more
I became quite good at sin
always had a fight to win
not to many came to me
once they could my power see
Then My God told me look up
living that way must now stop
winning for myself is bad
it does not make others glad
So i looked at calvary
where my Jesus I did see
nailed upon a rough wood tree
died there just for you and me
then I saw thats how to live
always others love to give
who cares if I eat or sleep
or at night if I may weep?
Others now see that I love
My dear savior up above
i want to now always be
Just like Jesus on that tree
Truest love he showed for man
he had power and he could
off that cross have come and stood
wiped on man and earth for good
but he didnt and I see
he is nice and kind and free
I want like Jesus now to be
lovely, kind eternally
I gave Jesus my own hands
he can hold them help me stand
as they beat me I am free
from my character you see
good riddance fr that evil man
the man of sin I always am
forget what all is owed to me
Im free from hate eternally
I look to Jesus as he gives
a kindest look and helps me live
and go to work each blessed day
and act like Jesus all the way.
