Before my eyes were open
You set yours upon them
Before I breathed my first
Your breath was in my lungs
Here I find myself today
Erecting an idol before my eyes
Singing the praise of hollowness
Before my hands could grasp
You held them in Yours
Before my feet could stand
You placed them in the ground
Here I stand today
My hands raised to eternal emptiness
My feet treading the valley of death
Your eyes are forever set on me
Your breath forever in my lungs
Your hand forever holding mine
Your presence forever holding me
While I shook hands with deception
Wading through pools of filth
Worshiping the worthless
Praising the damned
You sacrificed all you could
Bled what was dearest to your heart
Broke Your heart to save mine
What am I worth for You?
What have I done that You care?
Yet you still breathe fire on my soul
Grasp my heart in Your hands
My mind will never understand
You refuse to let go
And I rest in Your refuge forevermore
