You sound a bit dubious about the poem that you just read.
Well I guess, that is the natural reaction of a Christian.
That is why we must differentiate between spiritual and secular (worldly).
We are in the world but we are not of the world.
Thus if we are unable to differentiate between secular and spiritual (worldly) then we are in for a very bumpy ride and a rude awakening.
All our families might be secular, our mother, our father, our siblings etc. We must be able to draw a line between our love for them and our love for God. If we don't then we are as blind as a bat and do not know what true love is all about.
Jesus changed the meaning of love when he said a new commandment I give unto you.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Before it was this:
Luke 10:27 And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and
thy neighbour as thyself.
Now unless you have the Spirit of God within you, you will be totally baffled. Especially if you are a thinking man.
I won't tell you the answer as you probably will learn nothing. Therefore I challenge you to search the scriptures and come up with the proper answer. It is not any different as if you were working out your own salvation, as advocated by Paul, the apostle.
