Dun Dun DUUUUNNN... it's the CLEANING thread (once again, not to be confused with the GLEANING thread that Lynx has posted ;)).

I don't know how to create a poll (I've been here for 4 years, and I STILL don't know how to create a poll). SO, we'll just have to do it this way. :) To make up for it, I have attached some epic gifs.

Who all here is a neat freak, those who "whistle while they work?" (*cough cough* Jullianna *cough cough cough* oh, excuse me. I must be coming down with a cold. ;) ) What sort of housecleaning do you enjoy most? Dish-washing (yes, I'm including dish-washing)? Mopping? Vacuuming? Organizing (that's hard work there, yo. Especially if you're me)? Which part of the house do you LEAST enjoy cleaning? I know it may be hard to come up with this answer, but everyone has that task that they like just a LIIIITTLE bit less than the others.

Okay, I know I can't be the only one out there...who all hates cleaning and/or dreads it every week? We all know it's the necessary evil, so we (grudgingly) do it (at least... I REALLY REALLY hope you do). What part of housecleaning is the LEAST evil to you? I know for me, it's vacuuming. All you do is flip a switch and push it around till all the dirt's gone. lol Which one is the MOST evil to you? For me, it's a close call between cleaning the bathroom and doing the dishes. Even with a dishwasher I still dread doing the dishes.

So for those who dread it/hate it, what do you do help you get motivated and stay motivated enough to do it all? Do you ever finish?

Reply away! And procrastinate (or not) on doing your housecleaning for 5 more minutes! :D

Forgot to leave out one question:

For everyone! When is the best time to do your housecleaning? Early in the morning? Late in the afternoon? Really late at night?

I actually enjoy doing the dishes. I like that the sink is all shiny and empty afterward. If I can keep the sink clean, then I don't mind doing other housework. I don't like it when I want to sweep and mop, but have to do the dishes because there is a bunch of stuff in there, because then I have to make space in the sink by doing the dishes, and that becomes two chores instead of one when I have already psyched myself up to do only one chore.

If only people spent as much time cleaning their hearts as much as they clean their houses... the world might be a better place.

Psalm 51:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

PS - the filth inside can be washed clean by Jesus' blood that is free! yay! :)

O.K. I will be totally honest here....I clean better when there is another person in the house....I forewarned tourist that I am not the worlds best housekeeper. When I live alone I have these things called blinders that I just don't see or care about whatever is going on in the house. When it starts to bug me then I do something about it.

When someone else is around such as when my cousin came to visit then it is easier to keep the dishes done and run the vac a little more often and I will pay attention to my dirt more than when it is just me and my dirt.... Anyone else with me on this?

Since a husband will be added shortly I will be making improvements to my style of cleaning although tourist assures me we will make a great team in this area. My problem isn't total filth but more of clutter and he has promised to help me with this problem... Like I said when someone else comes into the house then my motivation level does rise to maybe do something and not let it lay.... The blinders come off in other words and I might not be spending as much time at the pool as I used to so as not to see the mess....

Tourist was warned and he knows what he is getting into.....I welcome the help.

Organizing is absolutely #1. As a matter of fact, I just reorganized my linen cabinet when I got home this evening. Did my kitchen yesterday. For me, that IS resting/relaxing. :D I even love going to stores and looking at different types of office/home organizing systems. :)

And I don't mind handwashing dishes or cleaning bathrooms and/or kitchens, as I am extremely picky about those rooms.

Which part of the house do you LEAST enjoy cleaning? I know it may be hard to come up with this answer, but everyone has that task that they like just a LIIIITTLE bit less than the others.

I'm not a fan of drying dishes or ironing (my mom ironed EVERYTHING - even my stepdad's boxers), but my dishwasher and dryer handle most of those chores for me.

Most people are shocked to learn that I do not like to make my bed. :)

^^^^^This doesn't work. Neither does wiggling my nose like Samantha Stevens or singing like Snow White/Cinderella.

Okay, I know I can't be the only one out there...who all hates cleaning and/or dreads it every week? We all know it's the necessary evil, so we (grudgingly) do it (at least... Very loud music playing in all rooms. And dancing. Lots and lots of dancing.

^^^^^and now you know why I love fuzzy socks so much. :D

Before I became a mom, I loved cleaning late at night. Not sure how my neighbors felt about the loud music though. It's tough for me to clean without music. :)

Now I usually start in the morning on one of my days off, so I can get it done and enjoy the rest of my day doing other things in my clean house. :)

Cleaning, eh?

I don't like it in general but I'm okay with doing the dishes and drying them, sweeping, vacuuming - that sort of thing. But I can't stand dusting. I especially didn't like dusting as a child or teenager because our family had many little objects to remove, then dust the area down and replace said objects. Or my housemate who had lots of random objects (I want to use another word, but I won't). That's just tedious. I watch TV or listen to music most of the time when I'm doing the dishes. Same while sweeping inside or outside or dusting, but no TV.

I do a basic clean around my house every so often, although I like to clean "as I go along," and then every few weeks I have a girl who comes into my house (for a few hours) and cleans what I have missed...

QED!

I have been washing my home down with Hyssop water, trying to hit every nook and cranny...I smell the difference in the air, yet not perfumed! You can smell a hint of Rosemary that I added, but not boldly..The things I have been able to find out about it has been wonderful!
