Sirs and madams,

There comes an hour in our reflections, betwixt the contemplation and realization of newborn intentions, when we must inquire of our future selves. "Why?" is the question. With abounding caution do we approach forthcoming opinion as the nascence of premonition begins her pursuit of outward expression, wherein a slow bewilderment seizes our cognizance. This disintegration of thought, my friends and acquaintances, despite the lawful conclusions of happenstance, must not (and indeed cannot) be tolerated; accordingly, emendation is in order.

Would that the orthodox be submitted with the utmost candor -- a form witnessed by a reverent people more virtuous than ourselves. Alas, found wanting we have been cast against the waves of thorough introspection lest our understanding (that is, the acknowledgement of such deficiency) be left, unabated, to flee from our counterfeit naiveté. In consequence I have perceived a lost significance, an enigma of nuance if you will, and relinquished full translation to my coequals.

The Gentleman

Jonah,

If it's ever decided that the US constitution (or other important historical documents), need to be rewritten or paraphrased, I am definitely sending in your name as a candidate to take on the task. :D

Many kudos to you, Sir Gentleman. :p

I think I'd rather have it in English.

A marvelously complex way of saying... nothing. And sorting out all those modifying clauses made my brain hurt. I'm sending you the doctor bill. :p

That's one of the most peculiar things to me about the English language... That it can come in so many forms that are technically English... but yet... can be just as familiar as a foreign language.

Are all other languages like this, too?

To me, no language truly and functionally works in real life if it does not effectively communicate something to the majority of its intended audience.

Any language that has "politician" in it can be used as a tool for doing the opposite of communication's intended use - obfuscating.
