was thinking about this book...at the end, she listed another book that really helped her, and it was that self-help book called 'The gifts of imperfection' by Brene Brown.
I dont know if that Brene Brown book has changed anyones lives but she is a popular author, so I tried to read one of her other ones I found one called 'Dare to Lead' but I actually gave up as it was rather confusing and over my head.
The business side of her story was fairly interesting as she was raising funds for her start up which I can imagine is a stressful endeavour hustling and doing all these pitches and networking etc. She was around quite wealthy people and had dates with mostly professional men, like she listed their jobs, asked then, what they did, what their family was like etc.
I think personally I could not do the same thing in my town. First of all I dont live in the city in an apartment where you can just walk to bars and eateries and meet people. Setting up dates like that every week would get expensive. Her first date was always just drinks and a chat. If she felt a connection the guy might ask for a second date. After a few dates if it wasnt working out she or he would end it. It all seemed fairly friendly but she did get a bit side tracked with one guy who ticked all the boxes (he was a senator even) but then found he wasnt actually a nice person.
She got kissed a lot. That not nice senator guy she nearly ended up in bed with but he dropped her like a sack of bricks after that. She always offered to go halves on the date though many men would insist on paying for everything.
my experience with online dating ended at 3 dates cos I got scammed by the third and then decided not to do it anymore. lol. So I think she must have been incredibly lucky to go on so many dates and not get scammed tho she might have had her heart shattered a little bit.
I also think that since she seemd like a serious person and her end goal was family (she was even going to freeze her eggs) that was why she was quite disciplined thougn she made the mistake of pretty much going into the date hoping for marriage/children without really having that much fun in the process. And she went on some really ritzy dates like one guy lived in the Hamptons (really wealthy area near NY) and would take her up to his summer house mansion, drive her in a late model lamborghini etc.
Althougn this did not faze her in the slightest as it seemed she was used to such luxuries..she was leasing a BMW after all and raising 1 million for her venture...she just seemed very good at handling money or maybe just used to being priveliged.
