Cathart: verb - To do something cathartic, to do something to blow off steam or relieve stress.
1. He's in the bathroom catharting (singing loudly) right now.
2. They've been catharting (stomping and slamming doors and acting generally grumpy) all over the place for the last two hours.
Do you cathart? Have you catharted today?
So it has been a long day, the boss has been on your case, the air conditioner in your car went out and you're just generally in a bad mood and you can't take much more without blowing a gasket. How do you let off a little steam? Slam a few doors? Yell at the next person who crosses your path? Go to a bar, get drunk and pick a fight? (Don't laugh, some people actually do this specifically to blow off a little steam. One reason why I never go there, you never know when somebody there will want to cathart.)
