so close and yet so far. I read this memoir called Reef Life about a scientist who spent his career counting species of fish amongst the coral reefs and I cant even remember all the names of the ones he mentions. But I recall this one. most of them ended in --fish

apparently the best place to dive is the Red Sea, though the most biodiverse reef is in the Coral Triangle in the Phillipines.
Great Barrier Reef is apparently dying from acidification, the corals are being bleached and polluted thanks to mining and fertiliser runoff...and climate change. eeek.
So whoever said there is plenty of fish in the sea must have been talking 50 years ago not now.
