Here is wisdom: Women folk shouldn't be involved in a man's thread who is talking about masturbating and all this, it's inappropriate. Men should talk with only other men of God about that instead getting support from single females about his masturbation problem.

Yes and no, it was the total package, not just reading but also commenting and the support. The selfies were the icing on the cake.

miktre, you are aware that it's not just men who have issues with lust, masturbation, and sexually impure thoughts, right?

Perhaps you should also check out a link on ServantStrike's signature which leads to a men's only group of discussion about this topic.

As far as selfies go, have you ever thought that maybe the women (and men have them too) of this forum would like to let people put a face to a name?

Pain of being single - is only because there is life, which must die - I am not saying desiring to be married is wrong, but where it takes you out of Hope only in Christ, that is where the struggle is. Rather having fellowship with God, than a woman has to be a place we need to get too

A lot of lust, addiction etc - is from wounds given by fathers - a skewed Identity given by him, and a distrust in the identity that the Father wants to give us

ServantStrike - awesome challenge. I like that you reiterate not to focus on any sort of hint towards sexual sin and flee from it. Sometimes when I'm trying to resist temptation (of anything, not just sexual sin), if I keep looking, keep thinking about it, it's harder to pull myself away from it. We must renew our minds, hold every thought captive and if it's not of Christ and is sinful, put it to death.

I was away while all of this happened. The vacation was lovely by the way, the entire thing was incredibly cheap and I spent roughly two weeks with family. Batteries are recharged now. Enough of that though, this topic has been derailed enough already. I know you may have had good intentions, so here's where I'll set the record straight.


The entire reason I did this so publicly was in the hopes that it might spurn other men on towards finding other Christian men to talk to about this. If churches actually talked about this issue, then men (and women) in the church might actually know how to deal with it and take it to Christ. I don't usually make rash public vows unless there's a point to be made. What other possible value would there be in me getting up and discussing this publicly?


It sure as heck wasn't easy, and it doesn't feel so good when someone else stands up and starts questioning my motives, or the motives of others who simply agreed with me that this behavior has no place in the life of a Christian.


There was nothing sexual about any of this at all. It's a complete and utter lack of all things sexual.

As for women reading it, that's actually also kind of the point. I can't tell you how many women I've talked to who have husbands/boyfriends/sons/friends who are so deeply mired in sexual sin they don't know what way is up. Part of this is to point out that no one who calls themselves a Christian should ever cling to this kind of behavior. No one should ever tolerate this in a loved one either.
