I do have a dreadful tendency to be grounded from time to time... maybe it was those times I worked as an off-books journeyman electrician...lol
I'm just thinking there is No way I'd go on something like that at this point in my gun-shy little life, even if I did organize it. I'm very nearly almost that awkward. I'd probably still go, have a blast, but it would be a very uncomfortable stepping-out on faith only made because I had given myself no other option.
Potlucks rawk! (how do you herd cats... with food)
...except when there is that one crazy person that has no idea about sanitary cooking procedures and everyone gets sick and... wow, yeah, wasn't me - I'm a little neurotic in the kitchen, but not to an unhealthy degree... besides, if folks were coming from half way across the country, I imagine that tuna noodle casserole would be even Less good by the time it got there.
I'm thinking that we could have parallel events going most of the time, with specific ALL ABOARD events. Yunno, like Everyone get together for a fireside devotion Saturday night, followed by an all nighter game night, with the option to go to bed whenever, but everyone getting together for a Worship Service, short lesson, & communion the next morning - ending in time for everyone to thow stuff together before check out time, heading to lunch, and then shuttling peeps to the airport/train-station/et cetera. Also maybe have two different social outings Saturday afternoon, a common Saturday morning breakfast, some organized ice breaker type games Saturday morning (anyone else been around folks with a degree in Outdoor Leadership? or maybe folks with experience in working Freshman Orientation?)... I dunno. just me thinking... my brain hurts.
Could you bring some judgmental deer to keep folks from hiding out too much?
