Work toward unity, and live in harmony with one another. Avoid thinking you are better than others or wiser than the rest; instead, embrace common people and ordinary tasks. (Romans 12:16). My brothers and sisters, I know you’ve heard this before, but stop playing favorites! Do not try to blend the genuine faith of our glorious Lord Jesus with your silly pretentiousness. (James 2:1). Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? (James 2:5).
We should stop looking out for our own interests and instead focus on the people living and breathing around us. (1 Corinthians 10:24). So as long as we are clothed and fed, we should be happy. But those who chase riches are constantly falling into temptation and snares. They are regularly caught by their own stupid and harmful desires, dragged down and pulled under into ruin and destruction.(1 Timothy 6:8-9).
But celebrate this: God selected the world’s foolish to bring shame upon those who think they are wise; likewise, He selected the world’s weak to bring disgrace upon those who think they are strong. God selected the common and the castoff, whatever lacks status, so He could invalidate the claims of those who think those things are significant. 29 So it makes no sense for any person to boast in God’s presence. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29).
O Eternal One, my heart is not occupied with proud thoughts; my eyes do not look down on others;
I don’t even begin to get involved in matters too big, matters of faith, state, business, or the many things that defy my ability to understand them. (Psalm 131:1).
