Well Jewell, you should know enough about eyes. I just had an eye exam because I have cataracts in both eyes. Plus macular degeneration and chronic dry eye. A cataract in my right eye has been throwing off my focus. It looks like I have a hair over my eye that has been there about a month. They tried to schedule my cataract surgeries, but they will need about $400 co-pay.
With my boy changing jobs and paying off a workforce contract they have been draining me of my money. He is working steady now and I am not going to put out $400 a month on groceries like I have been the last two months. I had $350 extra back in May and was trying to save for a hearing aid that my son wants me to have. I haven't saved any more, in fact I am going the wrong direction. I only had about $175 at the end of last month.
We were supposed to split $300 worth of ATT rebates. They were in his name and he just took and spent them on himself, even though I fully pay the ATT bill. My son has also changed his diet around because of work and dental problems that I can't figure out how to deal with it. The last three things I cooked they barely have touched. They just go and get take out, but not usually for me.
Pee on it, I am going to just feed myself this month. I should be able to come up with the eye surgery money anyway. The exam for the hearing aid only last six months and I am not sure if the insurance will pay for another. So I will put it to my son whether he want to let that chance lapse before I spend the $400 for eye surgery. He straight out owes me $150 he borrowed and another $150 from the cards he promised to pay back. That would cover it.
There is no time restraint on the eye surgeries, but the doctor told me not to drive at night because I am not legal, by the eye exam results. So those need to be soon also. I get a generous Social Security amount, I shouldn't be having these problems paying for my needs. I need to put my foot down and insist my money goes for my needs, first. From now on anyway. Done with rant.

Have you heard of the book Boundaries? I can't recall the authors, but it's excellent. It might inspire and empower you to continue with your new plan.
In the meantime, I'll pray for you. The Lord is so creative in the ways he meets our needs!

I hadn't been to Oregon or Washington since I drove a truck 48 and Canada in '80 and '81. I went through the Columbia River Valley right after the St. Helen's eruption. Ash dust remained in that valley months after the eruption. It was really fine silt, we had to keep our windows rolled up.
