They are pretty different, but they are also much alike... hehehehe

It's kinda easy for us to understand what the other is saying (at least you can get a clear idea) if they speak slowly... but to say something, on the other hand, it's quite hard...

On one of my um...adventures...across the country on a Greyhound bus, I sat next to a young guy from Morocco who spoke French but knew English as well. His accent was amaaaazing...but it might have been more the fact that he had this leather jacket that smelled wonderful, or his cologne, or that he shared some expensive chocolate with me that made him seem so fantastical. You know, and not the accent.

In retrospect, I think it's a very good thing that I was far too tired from traveling to bother falling madly in love with him ;)

How do you ladies feel about speecth impedimenths? Really justh a sthlight listhp, nothing more. Lots of us Hollywood sthars have it - Tweetie Bird, Thyvester Cat, Mike Tython to throw a few high level names around. It's not some weird stutter like Pe-a-da Pe-a-da Porky Pig or Elmer Fudd's pwobwem pwonouncing things. It's a clean, slightly wet but rather delicate issthue with the letter S. I find it quite sthunning in thertain applications.

Here'sth a little wallet size for ya...

if you ever looked at a map and wondered why there seems to be a chunk cut out of Spain called Portugal and why are the 2 places different. Portugal was mostly settled by the European Celts that got pushed to the east till they couldnt go no more. Spain is more Latin/roman/Phoenician. and there you go.
next week we will discuss Charlemagne's empire and why the Saxons gave him so much trouble. bring your notebooks because i am giving a test on it!

Neither have I... but I've heard their accent on tv and movies and internet... :D and it's beautiful!!!

I wish I could practice talking English more... I know I have an accent, and I would love to get rid of it... yeah... I find accents beautiful, but I don't like to have one... hehehehehe except in Portuguese... that is fine!! :)
Most Americans kinda like English spoken with an accent. You'll probably never truly get rid of yours. :) But if I'm ever on and you want to go to chat and practice... I'm game.

Mostly, I like 'em. I sorta have a little lispy deal too when I get tired or am very nervous. Singing lessons broke me of it most of the time.

Funny things about NZ is Auckland the largest City and the South Island is theres this rivalry thing south islanders joke sling off and dont like Aucklands cause their the 'big smoke' ( which means kind of like big busy bustling city) and Aucklanders dont like the South Islanders its really random because unless youve been there you wouldnt know or lived there. "dorkland" and such I must admit before I moved south in an Auckland high school phsyical Education class / P.E I was joking with my friends and 'dem sheep and farms' and all Christchurch/south Island had to offer me was lots of sheep and grass . Relax tho southerners! I lived there for almost a decade and got a totally different perspective and love the place and people. Even in church they sling off at each other!

This will relate to accents sooner or later haha but I actually like the canterbury or christchurch accent and for a man to marry that would be cool there is a difference between north and sound I noticed it when I went to school there (south ) and I so badly wanted a cantaberian accent to fit in and it sounded cool it was different because apparently people said"oh I know youre from auckland your accent sounds different" oh man! IMO my personal oppinion some of the wellingtonians (southern north Island) actually sound like the southerners even some Waikato folk in my oppinion sound different to Aucklanders thats mid north Is. my cousins who grew up there in Waikato always sounded different.
