Four thoughts I had about being bored:
1. You're bored. That's great! It means you use your brain more than the average couch potato. That means you have a better chance of retaining your good mind when you get old.
2. You're bored. That's great! Now is a great time to be learning. Learn more about what you are interested in, or what you always wanted to learn but never had the time to. Personally I would recommend learning how to use a computer to make music, but that's because I'm a music nerd.
3. When people say they are bored I'm reminded of a kid looking in a fridge full of food and saying "Mom, I'm hungry. There's nothing to eat." The problem is not that you have nothing to do, but that the things you have at hand to do are not what you want to do, and either you can't imagine what you would want to do instead or what you want to do is out of reach.
Do you know what you would rather be doing? If you do have something you would be doing while you are bored, is it out of reach? And if it is, why? Just curious.
4. You're bored. That's great! Come over and help me with something.
I'm beta-testing a mod for somebody, making a music track for somebody else, working on a music project for church, and I never get around to cleaning up around here...
