My country-Tanzania is East African - South of Kenya. The most interesting thing would probably be the fact that mainland Tanzania is a little more than 50% muslim, but we never fight, we get along very well. We love diversity - people are always nicer to my Indian or caucasian friends.
the culture is a combination of African and Arab. the culture is more Arabic/ Muslim towards the coast which meams people are extra modest, I once wore a veil to church :)

there are about 120 tribes ...but we are so merged that I don't speak my tribal language. The tribal languages are almost dead, we all speak Swahili( kiswahili) instead(my first language) and not English... but for some reason we have to learn English which of course no one speaks here. If I was talking instead of writing I would have a pretty good African accent :-D

Missionaries always say that people are really nice here .. :)

this may be more detail than you care to know but I enjoy sharing .... ;-)

Psalm, this is exactly what I had in mind when I created this thread. You did great! We need to learn more about one another in this big ole world. :)
