While I dont hang underwear from my bed (just yet), sure I pray about it. It would be kind of foolish not to.

Yes, I pray for my husband in the future like this:

'Lord I pray for the man that will be part of my life. A man who really love You more than everything. A man that lives not for himself but for You. He must know from whom and what He lives, so his life isn't useless. Someone that has a wise heart not only a smart brain. A man that not only adores me but can warn me when I'm wrong. A man that makes me feel like woman when I'm beside him. I don't ask for perfect man but I ask for imperfect man so I can see You work perfectly through his life. A man that needs my support, my love, my prayer. Give Your hanfs so I always be able to pray for Him. Give me Your eyes, so I can see good things in him and not the bad one. Give Your mouth that is filled with Your words of wisdom so I can support him. Process his life like You process my life and unite us in Your perfectly timing when both of us is ready to have commitment. Amen'

Untill now, I still pray for my husband wherever he is now :)

This reminds of once when I was waiting for a bus. I was praying to God, giving Him my list of the type of guy I wanted when I kid you not all the sudden a guy starts walking up out of nowhere.. and he was bald.. I had neglected to mention that I liked guys with hair haha so I said oh yeah, not bald. Well he wasn't for me anyway cause he kept on walking. Just another example that God has a sense of humor.
Anyway, yes I know I wont get someone that's has every quality I desire but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I used to do this. My former youth group once had a lesson which spoke of this, and we did it a couple times. I'd say it's a good idea.

I used to..about almost every day..even if it was just for five minutes each day. Lately i have not, maybe because my working on myself has become far more important than finding a wife. Would i like a wife? Sure! But my spiritual maturity, and growing in love and knowledge of God far supercedes that. Not that i am not struggling at times, it sure would be nice to have someone. But i am content regarding my 'singleness' at least.

I was just wondering if you prayed for your future husband and if you guys pray for your future wife.... Like I pray that my husband is a man after God's heart and just trusting in Christ in everything.... and like I also am praying that he is praying me... and I hope when he mets me it is not becuase of the way i look but rather.... 9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. 1 Timothy 2:9-13 I hope he can see Christ in me first then my beauty second( not trying to get a big head and saying i am pretty do not get the wrong idea) And i also hope that when he is praying he can see that i am a proverbs 31:30 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. person

just wondering if you prayed about your future husband or wife
All the time! I have a prayer for my husband that I keep in the 2nd book of Habukak(a prophet friend told me to do this and God confirmed why. I thank God every day for my husband and know he is coming.

I dress modest, but I make hair accessories and jewlery. It's a craft that God gave me and so in that respect I dress fashionable, but modest. No showing cleavage, and such, and God is ok with that. Just as long as you are living God's way, which I am...but I still can't lose that part of me because it is serving a Godly purpose. Take Jan Crouch from TBN for example. Her pink hair helps her witness to people. True story.:D

If you feel like he is requiring that of you, pray about it. Or maybe he has given you a peace about this and equipped you, and enabled you with this gift of singleness. Not everyone is called to being married, and not everyone is called to be single. My only issue i have had is when i have either married folks who are not happily married down play marriage to not being the 'end all' which i know it's not..but then i am like, sooo why did you get married then?
And then those who say singleness is the best thing..
Both have pros and cons, and we have to be mindfull that God tells us each what he wants for us to do regarding his personal walk with us. We are all learning, figuring this out, and in different places. But i think if the one who is married doesn't despise the single person or tries to sway them to marriage or against marriage, and the same with the single person who is gifted like Paul..then we can have no extra pressure placed upon us and thus maybe can hear God more clearly.
Just my 2 cents on the matter..

Yes, because getting married is a vocation that has to offerred to God so we will be guided in .

I don't really know if God has a relationship tucked into my future some place. I've never dated or really been interested in it much other than two times that I can think of. I get asked out quite a bit, but I always turn the invitation down. Doesn't really strike me for some reason. It could change, or I might just be created to walk alone with God.
But... if it does change, I have a few letters I've written for whoever God places into my life. I also pray for his safety, strength, faith, and courage most nights. I don't know the guy, (if there is one) but I hope he's doing alright and doesn't feel like he needs much.

That idea never occurred to me until now. I'm not entirely sure I ever want to marry.....I am extremely happy being non-committed. Marriage forces your priorities in life to shift entirely.....I guess I just realize how much responsibility and hard work it actually takes to have a successful marriage. People take that a little too lightly these days I think and expect it to be all rainbows and butterflies.

I'm always praying for her safety and sanity.
I think that's why God has kept her away from me. :p

I have had other people pray that for me (through no prompting of my own) in the past but I am on the fence about the idea of marriage (I am a commitment-phobe) so its hard for me to really pray about it specifically LOL

I feel like such a heathen when I say this, especially with all the other answers (though I didn't read through the entire thread), but...

No. I suppose I could start, but I do not know 100% that I'll get married. I don't know what God's plans are for me in that regard. I want to get married, but I'm not sure that just because I want to means I will. I find it kind of strange, then, to pray for someone that may or may not exist, and if they do exist, I really don't know who I'm praying for. Like, "God, if this person exists, then I pray for his strength, character, etc." I think maybe because I like to pray specifically, for specific people, so I guess I just struggle praying in the way you'd have to to pray for your future spouse.

well, I've got some writings and prayers for my FUTURE HUSBAND, until now I'm still single and I do not know when the Lord will give the man to me. but I really enjoy my single days, and I believe God knows when I am ready to have a partner.
here is my pray ..

Dear Future Husband,Never will I say, “I told you so” when you did wrong. I will cherish and endure the consequences along with you.Never will I go when you are in trouble. I will stay right beside you. But please allow me to do so.Never will I compare you with other man. Because I love you just the way you are. No less than when love first bloomed between us.Never will I become too busy to greet you every morning and every night. Never will I miss one day without hugging and kissing you.Never will I share my deepest secrets to other people more than to you. You are my best friend forever and the one whom I trust the most.Never will I forget your favorite foods to be cooked J When you are happy, I am happy too.Never will I get bored with you. Together we will always spend quality time together in endless ways.Never will I get distracted even when we are already having children. I am married to you, not them. You are still my priority.Never will I neglect your parents. Your parents are mine too. Their problem is ours too. Let us promise not to sleep with our backs face each other no matter how upset we are. Never hold grudges until tomorrow. I want to be always in peace with you. When I do things you dislike, may you always forgive me. I am such a forgetful person, but I will do my best next time.Never lose your trust in me. When I am not trusted, it really makes me down. Your trust brings me life.Let us never use harsh words toward one another. Let us never devalue one another. Because we are one.Let us put God as top priority in our marriage. Let us dedicate time both individually and together to have communion with Him.Let us patiently endures every trials in days to come. May it strengthens the bond between us not separates us.Never will I lie to you. An honest answer is always be my sweet kiss to you.Never will I throw away each gift you have given to me. No matter how small it is, never it becomes insignificant to me. I simply love you because you are you. Not because of what you do or what you have. As the day passes, I can only find that my love to you grows J Loving you is my life.
