I've never been to a nightclub in Cameroon.

If the OP is actually from Cameroon, well, maybe it IS a good idea for a Christian to stay out of nightclubs there.

I have no idea what goes on in a Cameroon nightclub,
but for those who haven't traveled much...
there are countries where most of the nightclubs ARE brothels.
Seriously.

Now, here in the west, we have different kinds of nightclubs, and pubs, and even restaurants that serve alchohol.
There are all kinds of different places, and all kinds of different reasons for being there.
As a general rule of thumb, WHY you are in a place, and WHAT you actually do there, are probably the critical things.

Personally, I know I'm best off avoiding hot drunk chicks in tight skirts, lol.
But hey, that's just me.

A favourite activity of the moronic majority, this involves being shunted like cattle into a converted warehouse... sadly not to be slaughtered, but to wear ridiculous trendy clothes, listen to crap eardrum-shattering music, try to pick up brainless members of the opposite sex, and generally stand around aimlessly in a desperate but pointless attempt to show how cool you are.

Boy, have I missed out! LOL!

There are people who DO go to nightclubs ... or at least the streets outside nightclubs
... to talk to these pretty girls you talk of, and keep them from going with the "charming" guys
How will they help people there if they are hiding in church or at home?
Just as Jesus did. He went TO the people, where they lived.

I've never been to a night club in my entire life, I've never missed not going.
I know lots though who have gone and regretted it (really regretted it big time).

Its not the night club thingy that is the issue specifically, its the motives behind
going and the people you meet, the excessive drinking (even if you may not drink
excessively yourself), the danger of drinks getting spiked, the out of control
environment, the possibility of getting caught up in trouble at chucking out time etc.

So even if you go with entirely worthy motives and don't drink to excess, you cannot
assume others around you will act in the same manner.

Jesus brought alcoholic to a party, but it doesn't mean people ended up in jail, fights,
raped as a result. Maybe the wedding party was a bit more civilised, maybe because
it was nearing the end of the celebrations people didn't have chance to wreck the wedding
and drink to excess. Maybe Jesus presence kept the devil at bay. Maybe He just wanted to
show people He was no cheap skate. Maybe he just wanted to help because He could.
Maybe even I would have felt safe going to a party with Jesus present. :)

Maybe your night club events in your part of the world are more civilised, I dunno.
I just know that in the U.K. I wouldn't want to go to a night club if you offered to
buy me a million pound winning lottery ticket.

Our church along with other churches, act as Street Angels during the weekend making sure
clubbers stay safe and get home. They work alongside the police providing assistance, spare
flip flops (because so many young girls get blisters and break high heels). They call family and
friends to pick up people who are too bloto to put one foot in front of another.
They provide bottles of water to help detox and call ambulances for those who end up
unconscious from booze and drugs.

It is possible as a Christian to mingle with clubbers in this way and provide real practical
help and a friend in a time of need. But who would want to deliberately put yourself in
harms way for a bit of "fun" and go out to a night club.

Who would want their own sons and daughters to have so called "fun" and risk
life changing harm.

I know the daughter of Christian who got raped leaving a night club.

I know the son of another Christian who works on the doors as a bouncer who has ended up
in hospital several times due to his job.

I know of a person at work who ended up having a fight with her best friend after getting
drunk at a night club, they both ended up in the cells for the night.

I have heard countless other stories of people getting into fights, getting attacked.

Ive heard countless stories on TV and the news about incidents following booze nights out.

My niece had her drink spiked just before Christmas at a night club, she saw what
happened fortunately and told the bouncers and the person was thrown out.
But a young women earlier wasn't quite so fortunate and was assaulted
just a few weeks before after going to the same night club.

Why would anyone want to put themselves through all that whether you are a Christian
or not. There has to be a safer form of entertainment.

I think he somehow feels he is an expert on them (but that is nothing new for this guy....... he seems to believe he knows everything about anything.)

I haven't been in a club, unless you are talking about a comedy club:p

However, I've been in a few bars where I've drank alcohol. Did I do something I regret in a bar? Yes!!!! Is it a sin to step foot into that kind of establishment, no! Would I go into a bar, nightclub or pub by myself? No! And I think that is the better way to go is to attend those type of establishments with others as a former of accountability so you don't do anything you will later regret!

I agree with what Miri wrote. I was at a Atlantic City club where a midget who was part of an act on stage tore the bible. A well respected Christian friend of mine went to the Webster Hall nightclub in NYC and told me straight out it was Satan's play ground and not a place for Christians.
John Rameriz, former Bronx Satan worshiper, who claims he was the 3rd (or was it 4th?) in command says no Christian belongs in a night club. See the video link below.
Aside from going there to evangelize, why bother?
Like a BB general manager said, it's, at best, bad optics.
At worst, your doing damage to your testimony and yourself.
