The first tuesday of every month we have a staff meeting. We do this thing called teacher hugs where you give a "hug" to another teacher or teachers for doing something helpful. So yesterday I was just being silly and I gave a "teacher hug" to ALL the teachers, I said it was because they were all special and dear to my heart. The funny thing is, when I first thought about doing it I was just being silly, but as I was saying it I started to feel like some of them may have needed that for either inspiration or just a laugh.
Aw, that's so sweet, very nice of you.

I don't know if it'd be allowed by the administration I'll end up under, but when I have my first year as a teacher, I could really use something like that, I hear it's very stressful being brand new. Rewarding and fulfilling, but hard at first. The support and comfort from people like you (and your hugs) who are experienced and at home there would be such a relief! I would have appreciated what you were doing, I'm sure that everyone else felt the same way. Great job! I hope to work with other teachers like you. <3
As for who I've helped/encouraged recently... We had our exams at my university just recently, and a classmate of mine I noticed was struggling a bit and was very worked up about the exam. These exams can be incredibly stressful, and this was... Not her best class. I offered to help and she accepted! I spent several hours with her over two days helping her with exam preparation, and it really got her confidence up and helped her understand the material. She thought she did fine on the exam and wasn't worried about it

It was so worth it to help as it made me feel warm and happy inside, and now I have a new friend!
I receive so much encouragement and care from those around me that I really have to try to keep up and give back what I'm being given! My gratefulness for how fortunate I am I think boosts my desire to help others.
