I'd say, right off is movies. They make the trailers look great and the movie turns out to be a flop. So now I just do tons of reviews on any movie before I put any time in it.

I work at that big mac place and neither of those looks like the big macs we make. They must have gotten a big mac from a place where they don't care. Or maybe they squished the one on the right down a bit for effect.

I can't say about the angus burger. It has been some time since we did those, and I don't recall how they looked.

Sometimes reality can PLEASANTLY surprise you.

Ed who? Yeah, I'd never heard of him either. When I found this CD I didn't hope for much. But it was less than a dollar and I buy christian music albums in bulk and sort them out later at home, so I bought it with the rest of the CDs I found at McKay's and brought them all home to listen to.

A little bit later I found myself asking Google for an album list, and was very disappointed to find out he only made two albums.

How a dish is plated helps, but to me it’s all about how it tastes.

Yeah, that's why I bring lunch from home, no matter how good our big macs look. :p

And that "reality" version of the chicken dinner looked delicious. Just personal opinion.

advertisements are nearly always deceptive. How many car ads show new cars driving serenely among roads with NO OTHER cars in sight on gorgeous scenic roads when reality you stuck in traffic and theres heaps of road cones everywhere and nobody even cares if your car is new or not as long as it goes. lol

Ado is meant to be deceptive. Who would believe the truth?

Has anyone actually bought anything off an informercial?

I always wondered if people really do call in and buy stuff after the tv tells them to. lol

I never have, and nobody I know personally ever has... but SOMEONE must be buying, because they keep airing infomercials. If nobody ever bought anything they would stop putting them on the air.

Expectation-Teachers to teach their children to read and choose books in the library
Reality- Teachers let their children run wild and hide in the corner looking at their laptops, ignoring their children

My son, some years ago, was determined to buy a cheap radio controlled helicopter. The pictures on the box were so convincing to him.

He saved his money. I warned him this wasn't going to be what it is showing.
He bought it anyway. He was able to fly it twice. The first time only lasted 3-5 minutes.
He charged the battery and flew it again. Went out of range and got into trees and broke.

He was so disgusted. But learned a valuable lesson.

On the brighter side of expectation versus reality: McDonald's sells cheese danish now.

I didn't let my hopes get very high. Every time McDonald's does something they do a really cheap, low quality version of it. But the cheese danish is actually pretty good.

Don't bother with the blueberry muffins, apple fritters or cinnamon rolls though. They are all the cheap junk I would expect from McDonald's.

I probably wouldnt give my children any pocket money just twice a year - new year and birthday thats it. lol
if they expect me to be a bank I'll just say go to dad. But you'll need to work for it.

Im amazed that some parents can employ their children so young. Dad must be making a heap to pay children

Parents Expectation : their child will do what they say immediately
Reality: they will not listen and probably do the opposite and maybe only do it after being reminded 100 times every day. Or if they are clever they will ask why, but if you say cos I say so. they might demand payment lol
