“…It’s not that you don’t have the capacity to accept the truth. You don’t want to accept it, and you hide behind your own logic and intelligence while the truth marches by. Step out and join it, for goodness’’ sake! Shout it out in full step! I believe!” - Saint

" It is a far, far better thing that I do than I have ever done. It is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."

Sydney Carton, A Tale of Two cities.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair…
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities ...

Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and sufferings are its fruits.
A noble and Godlike character is not a thing of favour or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with Godlike thoughts- As a man thinketh (james allen)

“This won't look so good in my obituary," Schaffer said dolefully. There was a perceptible edge of strain under the lightly-spoken words."Gave his life for his country in a ladies' lavatory in Upper Bavaria.”

“To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That’s what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked you to keep your soul – would you understand why that’s much harder?”

Nice guys do not finish last, and jerks do not finish first. Great performers finish first, and if they are great and good people they do even better. The qualities that lead to great performance are only enhanced in great relationships. The opposite is also true: great performance qualities are either limited or reduced by dysfunctional relationships. - Power of the Other by Henry Cloud

Instead of movie lines, let's find some of your favorite quotes from books. They can be from any genre! :)

What are some of your favorites?

Mine currently is this:

"Then he isn't safe?" said Lucy. "Safe?" said Mr. Beaver; "don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you." The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
the lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Never saw it any good ???????

I have read soooo many different kinds of books throughout my life, so my head is filled with over 50 years of favorite passages and quotes. :)

But I will never forget how my desire to write came to life when I first read HG Wells' science fiction novel, "The Time Machine." This part of his story sticks out in my mind still:

"In another moment we were standing face to face, I and this fragile thing out of futurity. He came straight up to me and laughed into my eyes. The absence from his bearing of any sign of fear struck me at once. Then he turned to the two others who were following him and spoke to them in a strange and very sweet and liquid tongue."
