Just a simple question here... Should be have feelings of guilt? Should we dwell on them? Should we try and make ourselves feel constantly guilty about our sin?

I have a few thoughts on this and I feel like there is a lot in the bible on this topic that isn't fresh in my mind.

I have two main thoughts though, Godly sorrow brings repentance.

Christ free's us from our sin, from our failings and from being burdened by feelings of sin and guilt. No guilt in life no fear in death...

What do you kids think?

Guilt is a tool of the devil to bring shame, and hold us back. God has forgiven us, guilt is us not forgiving ourselves for what God forgave. Guilt only fosters negative feelings and reactions.
Conviction, on the other hand, is what God uses to make us aware of the wrongness of our actions and bring us to repentance. But without condemnation, or shame. It leaves room for us to know we did wrong, but not be brought down by it. Where sin abounds, grace abounds even more.

Conviction is good, guilt is not; unless we are not repentant and our sins are not covered by the blood. Rather than dwelling on the wrongs we've done and allowing satan to beat us up with them for the rest of our lives, we need to find ways to use them for good by helping others break free of the same bonds that once held us.

Stuey, have you ever heard this song? Check it out :) God bless!
