Jesus Christ is the Lord. Acts 2:38 is the keys to the kingdom of God. Our foundation is built upon that of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone.

As long as we understand what that Scripture is actually saying.

38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The person being baptized is doing so because their sins were forgiven when they asked Jesus into their lives as Lord and Savior. The water baptism spoken of is not done so that ones sins may be forgiven.

Simple way to understand:

Are they being baptized to have sins forgiven

Are they being baptized because their sins were forgiven

Put it this way:

Repent and jump for joy for the forgiveness of sin.......

The late Adrien Rogers first made this comparison to reveal that water baptism did not cleanse one of sin. Only the precious blood of Jesus can do that. Water baptism is the first act of obedience! We are water baptized because Jesus said we should be. Water baptism serves as a witness to the world and the Church that a person has become a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the baptism that cleanses people of their sins, for this is how the precious blood of Jesus is applied. However, the Holy Spirit baptism cannot be seen by the eye. Thus, water baptism serves as a symbol that can be seen, just as when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

The "keys" to the kingdom of God is the precious blood of Jesus, not water baptism IMO.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Leviticus 17:11, 14 (cp. Deuteronomy 12:23) “For the life of the flesh
is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement
for the soul…. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life
thereof …”

Hebrews 9:22 “Without the shedding of blood, there is
no remission of sins.”

1 John 1:7″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.”

Exodus 12:13 “… and when I see the blood, I will pass over
you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you,
when I smite the land of Egypt.”

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood
of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony …”

Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience …

Hebrews 10:19, 22 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter
into the holiest by the blood of Jesus … Let us draw near with a true
heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience …”

Hebrews 13:12 “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify
the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.”

Romans 3:24-25 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

Romans 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

er
what about all the other places on earth?

Apparently all of Israel is not Israel (some of it is Palestine) but God still blessed Esaus descendants though it was a different kind of blessing.

I found this video yesterday about the history of the American anthem. Fascinating story.
