I was going to go as Piglet but I would have to buy a bunch of stuff, so I bought a fifteen dollar bee costume on Amazon today. I have enough black to wear under it and black boots, easy enough.

Halloween hasn't traditionally been a thing here, although the last five years or so some kids go trick or treating.

I once tried to dress up as a vampire for a Halloween party, but everyone asked if I was "that guy from The Matrix"

I'll post a pic of my cheese rat pretty soon.

For a previous piano recital around Halloween, I made a rat shaped cheese ball. The tail was a carved carrot, and the feet were carved celery. I don't remember what I used for the ears and eyes. It tasted great but looked rather disgusting. Even though I made the thing, when I saw the students and guests dip their crackers into the back of the rat, I got kind of grossed out.

Anyhoo - - I promised to make one for a fundraiser for a community choir that I accompany. I'll make a practice rat for the office first. Will post pic here.

unless I forget...

PS, of you need theatre blood for halloween (and don't mind a major sugar intake :p )

mix syrup with red food colouring , makes very realistic theatre blood.
For "congealed" blood, add a bit of coca

Zombie halloween thread, back from the graaaaaaave!

Actually I'm pretty sure four weeks since the last post is not long enough to be a zombie thread. Oh well.

Oncefallen, there are a few "Halloween is a pagan holiday" threads going strong. Maybe a few of those folks will drift off into this thread before the night is over.
