Before you go on praying for the right woman, have you prayed that you are prepared to care for her to begin with?

This may sound a bit pessimistic, but I think it's necessary that certain criteria be met before you look for a godly wife. First and foremost, your spiritual walk must be improving, of course. That is as basic as you can get. Second (and this is basic as well), you must be prepared financially to work with/support a wife. It's a well-known fact that most divorces, regardless of religion, are caused by financial stress. Love and butterfly feelings aren't gonna put bread on the table. Third, and this is a tricky one, you must be happy with yourself. Even while single. If you aren't happy with yourself, how do you expect someone else to be happy with you, or make someone happy yourself? For the most part, women don't like desperate guys, much less guys who are always depressed.

There may be some other important criteria I left out, but the above is basic, crucial, and required. If you got those three, you are on a good start to looking for your godly woman.

You both are right. I can't be pining after a woman forever. I gotta move on. As for being prepared for a woman I'm positive that I'm on the right track more or less and getting better. Thank you both.

Adams, let go and let God. Our pastor tells us that after you have been through such an experience, you "Close for Renovations". You let your heart healed and renewed, let God do a new thing in your life, then a new love will come. Just relax and let God do His thing.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, Adams . That's Solomon speaking in Proverbs, I don't know how Sol got so off track to wifing so many ladies (I guess that's what wealth can make you do). But he did run smoke....however, one things for sure, all that aforesaid, Sol got it RIGHT in how he went about virginally courted the first wife. He constantly preached his poetry in SONG Of Solomon bible book and did not 'awaken love before its time.'

So... fear the Lord (revere Him, trust His loving and judgments and all in it true), and keep love inside you corked until God springs it free. His timing , follow it, and remember bible part in trinkets Corinthians saying singleness is better than marrying. God has specific plans for all us, good plans, just forget about everything but following Him. The Lord leads. It's all good from Him :)

God's plans sometimes aren't what we expect. I'm 23 and I never thought I would be a christian and living my life the way I am now. I pray constantly for the man that God has for me and I also pray that if he chooses that I be single that I am content with that too. It's hard waiting and thinking that the person you are with is the one and then having that person tell you that they aren't the one for you. It hurts and it takes time to heal. Adventures sound like something fun to do to relieve the pressure and you should definitely think about taking advantage of being single because you can do what you want and experience so many things through missions trips and just being in the ministry. I hope you find what you are looking for.
