A funny thing happened last night, I was watching the fourth part of an animated TV series called The Legend of Korra. It's an excellent series but not Christian by any means. That said, God used it for His glory. I can't fault the timing. There were many bits that spoke to me, several things included being your own worst enemy, fighting your demons and not being able to do it on your own (otherwise you'll turn out to be a shell of your former self), trying to fix everything on your own, being still and quieting your mind and heart to hear from God, needing to be surrounded by your loved ones to get through the especially dark times. There was a lot of other stuff to do with the nature of sin and God at work in the spiritual realm, but I can't place them right now (but they were the first four episodes of Book 4). I felt God telling me it was okay, I was to trust Him in this dark time and not to take on this battle for myself. So I guess God is talking to me!
Then, some time later, I prepared for bed and sat and read for awhile. I also read from my Bible. Esther. Not all of it, just a few chapters, but one part was about Esther preparing to meet with the king, without his permission. This was a death-sentence. But Esther, along with her family and handmaidens fasted and prayed for several days before she went in to see the king. And in the end, Esther was admitted and she didn't die and she saved her kingdom, because she trusted God. She took the step of faith required, a step that would very likely have meant her death, but she did it to save her people. God isn't at the fore-front of the Book of Esther, flashing His name in big neon lights, but there's no doubt He permeates the whole book. Thanks, God.
Let's see what He has in store...
