You figured out how to make a new thread. Which is more than many people. haha. Just open a thread with an interesting title. If you want to respond just find the post you want to respond to and hit the 'reply with quotes' button on the bottom left of that post and type what you want.
If you hit the logo on the top left of the page it takes you to the main page. From there you can enter the real time chat rooms by hitting the blue 'Chat now!' button. Or you will see that line of blue colored letters. Avatar allows you to upload a picture that will show, like my eyeball picture. Profile takes you to your profile where you have options to change the appearance or adjust settings to how the site functions.
Names in pink are females, names in blue are guys. If you click on their name it gives you various options to interact with that person. That's the basics.
