"Clear as mud?" is one of many Oklahoman expressions. Possibly started by the muddy water, yes, but meaning..." I know it's not very clear/you may not understand this well, but do you at least get the gist of what I'm telling you?"

Obviously, mud is not clear, that's the point of the oxymoron. There a mixed parts which make something 'mud', but even while you can't clearly see through muddy water or seperate it's components easily, you can still get an idea of it, at least in part, of what it is you're looking at or for.

We say "clear as mud" in Indiana too. I usually say that jokingly when my boss asks me "do you understand"...of course usually i'm being sarcastic. But not always. She knows the difference.

I am also an introvert. I struggle with people. But I challenge myself whenever I can to get out there and get better at it.
At one point I was sent to a bible study group. I knew no one. I sat down in a room filled will rows of chairs. I was shaky. I wanted to burst into tears. But I refused to let myself get up and walk out. I'd already made it this far. I still sometimes, which I know is wrong, avoid people I know when I see them out. Like I'll move between shopping aisles to avoid them seeing me. But I'll get there. I am so useless at small talk I just feel awkward and say the worst things and I can mentally hear the crickets playing in the background. lol. But I am a work in progress and through Him I am saved and working with Him for change

I had the same thing, but after a few years of just quoting someone random and responding I thought: hey I can do this irl too. The people were happy that I finally opened my mouth. I always thought it would annoy them if I said something and when I was younger I simply had nothing to say.

Been there! Might see like a really small thing, but since I've started to take the words of Jesus to "Be not afraid" as a command, and not a suggestion, my life has become so free of so many of the old fears I used to have! :D It's a process though.
