Hey ^_^ I recently went through a break-up, and I decided to fall back on Biblical advice I've heard throughout the years. The most prominent I've heard is this- "God will be there to fill your needs. He will give you everything a partner could give you, plus some, and He has no flaws." Or something to that effect at least.
What gets me is this- There are 5 "Love Languages"- Gifts, Acts of Service, Compliments (that one goes by a diff name but I forgot what it was lol), Quality Time, and Physical Touch.
My question is this- Can God give you love in ALL of these areas if needed? I've been thinking, and from everything I've heard, He doesn't, unless I'm missing something 0_o
Gifts- He blesses us all, yes. He gives us what we need when we need it. This is obvious most of the time, and He definitely works through gifts. Also, the BEST gift EVER is the gift of eternal life, ftw =D
Acts of Service- Blessing from Him could also fit this, too. Some people feel like we're "using" Him when we ask for His help, but He WANTS to help us and He will =)
Compliments- His Word if very encouraging, and is full of verses to help bring you up ^_^ You may not know where to look, but with the resources we have today, it's not hard at all to find something to support you in whatever situation you're going through.
Quality Time- He enjoys spending time with us in His Word and prayer =) Sometimes He initiates it, and HE calls YOU to spend time with Him. He's always available if you need Him =P
Physical touch- ehhh... what? This is the one that gets me =/
Now, my primary love language happens to be, you guessed it, physical touch. God cannot (well, he CAN, but prolly won't) physically touch me. I can't hug God; He can't REALLY "hold me in his arms." The Bible uses emotional wordings to convey these messages, but there is no REAL physical connection there. I know God loves me, but due to lack of physical contact, many times I don't FEEL loved. Of course, I go to a partner to fill these needs, but when you're single, there's not much you can really do about that =/
Don't really know what I want you guys to say... Just puttin ma thoughts out there and seein what you have to say about it =)
