Not all clubs are bad environments.......you really have to take into account the atmosphere. Like a Tango joint, the tango has it's own culture and it's a very unique dance style....people that enjoy that type of thing will go to a tango club, same for swing dancers. They may serve drinks there but it's not your typical place young college students go to get hammered and deal drugs. Atmosphere is key.

Well, I recently read an article about sickos who put very potent drugs in some ladies glasses without their knowledge, and at some point they get unconscious and when they wake up, they have bruises and realize for most of them they have been raped.
Personally, I hate going to night clubs, bars, etc. where I don't know most of people there. I think it's fine if you go accompanied with friends or / and relatives to a private party where you know all people there and you know you can trust them, and of course with no drugs, no heavy drinking, no explicit dances or clothes, etc. you get the picture.
