I will tell you what my pastor many many years ago told me. "Do you believe GOD wants you in a marriage of emotional and physical abuse? Do you believe our savior really doesn't hurt for you? You have tried everything for years to make it work. It is time to trust GOD wants you happy and whole again."

So I feel it is the circumstances behind the divorce. PEOPLE change and grow and you grow together as a couple and learn each other on a constant basis or you will become withdrawn and miserable. So if everything has been tried to rekindle, make it work, forgive, etc. And it is still a bad situation, then I would Divorce.
